INNO-4-AGRIFOOD

Alongside the many activities of the membership organisation, EFFoST is also a partner in a number of food-related projects funded by the European Union. We have a successful track record in communicating and disseminating knowledge gained in coordination and research projects, as well as creating business plans to exploit project outcomes.

We are sustaining and creating a European network for knowledge transfer and use our existing network of food science and technology professionals to promote project outcomes. Within EU projects we work closely with member societies and organisations to ensure that activities are synergistic and build on expertise and initiative at the local level. Furthermore, we work with governmental organisations such as the European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority. Our involvement in EU projects helps us to achieve our ambitions and aims. EFFoST has also developed publications and organizes events on topical issues of industrial relevance.

Below an overview of the project EFFoST had partnered in:

INNO-4-AGRIFOOD will foster and stimulate online collaboration for innovation amongst the more than 11 million SMEs active within the European Agri-food ecosystem. This project will enhance the service portfolio and practices of innovation intermediaries and SME support networks across Europe.

A new generation of value added innovation support services aimed at empowering their agri-food SME clients to create and capture value from online collaboration for innovation, access a broader range of suitable innovation partners across sectoral and national borders and timely mobilise them in order to seize opportunities for animating innovation projects.

A suite of smart and platform-independent ICT tools to support and optimise the delivery of the novel online collaboration for innovation support services, enabling them to take full advantage of the multiple online collaboration and innovation platforms that currently host smaller or larger parts of the Agri-food Ecosystem.

A series of easy-to-follow and flexible e-training courses, conveniently available via a highly interactive e-learning environment, that will equip them with the knowledge and skills required to successfully deliver the innovation support services of INNO-4-AGRIFOOD.

All INNO-4-AGRIFOOD value propositions will be co-created, demonstrated and validated in real-life contexts with the active involvement of agri-food SMEs and their innovation intermediaries following a lean design process that will generate project outcomes shaped to their needs.

The accumulated experience and lessons learned through this process will be diffused across Europe so as to fuel the replication of its results and thus enable SMEs in other European sectors to tap into and capitalise on the full potential of online collaboration for innovation as well.
