Monash is seeking a leader with demonstrable experience of developing and leveraging academic/industry partnerships across multiple disciplines. The position focuses on leading an ambitious agenda to contribute to solving the challenges in food and agribusiness and sustainable food-ecosystems.

Monash Food Innovation (MFI) takes a multi-disciplinary approach to solving the global challenges
impacting the future of food, providing a gateway to the University’s research, education and global
networks across the food and agribusiness food chain. Originally an investment between Mondelez
International and the Victorian government, MFI moved to Monash in 2016 and focusses on making
significant impact in developing partnerships across the food sector.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Enterprise), the Director MFI is
responsible for strategic and operational leadership of the unit. The incumbent will work closely with
academic colleagues, industry and government to mobilise Monash’s expertise, resources and assets
around the University’s five Global Impact Themes (Sustainable economies, Inclusive communities;
Biotechnology and therapeutics; Future materials and processes; Medical technologies and systems;
and Data, Artificial Intelligence) to contribute to solving the challenges in food and agribusiness and
develop sustainable, globally-connected food ecosystems.

Monash is seeking a leader with demonstrable experience of developing and leveraging
academic/industry partnerships across multiple disciplines. To be successful you will need proven
experience of working in or with the international food industry, have a strong focus on creating and
leveraging opportunities and the ability to work collegially with staff at all levels of the University. A
Doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and Professor or Associate Professor standing is
required, as well as recognition as a leading authority in a relevant discipline or industry sector.
