Announcing the 34th EFFoST International Conference

We are delighted to announce that the 34th EFFoST International Conference: Bridging high-tech, food-tech and health: Consumer-oriented innovations will be hosted by Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. This 2,5-day event will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel from 10-12 November 2020.

In light of the increasing challenges the food industry faces, there is an immediate need for healthy, safe, sustainable, diverse and wholesome food solutions to fit the needs and preferences of the consumer. The 34th EFFoST International Conference will catalyse partnerships and exchanges of fundamental and applied interdisciplinary insights and ideas to enhance and extend the capacity of the food sector to face such challenges today and tomorrow. This will be achieved by focusing on the sub-themes: Engineering consumer-oriented foods; Shaping the food chain sustainability, and; Enhancing the endurance, diversity and resilience of the food chain. The EFFoST2020 conference will be hosted by Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, which is consistently ranked among the world’s top science and technology research universities and is Israel’s first university. Since its founding in 1912, the institute has educated generations of engineers, architects, and scientists who have played a key role in laying the State of Israel’s infrastructure and establishing its crucial high-tech industries. Assistant Professor, Uri Lesmes, from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering will be this year's conference chair.

Abstracts are now invited. Submit your abstract by using the online abstract submission system before 1 May 2020.
