EFFoST2020 Pre-conference interview - Dr Liz Specht

On Tuesday 10 November 2020, Dr Liz Specht, Associate Director of Science & Technology at The Good Food Institute will talk about the future of sustainable protein production and opportunities in alternative proteins at EFFoST2020.

At the 34th EFFoST International Conference,   Dr Liz Specht will be joined by Prof. Alejandro G. Marangoni and Distinguished Prof. Julian D McClements to discuss food science that will improve food security during the plenary session ‘Feeding the world today and tomorrow’. 

Liz Specht has a decade of academic research experience in synthetic biology, recombinant protein expression, and development of genetic tools. As Associate Director of Science & Technology wat The Good Food Institute,  Liz analyzes areas of current and future technological needs within plant-based and cell-based meat innovation, catalyzes research to address these needs, and supports start-ups and investors who are moving the field forward. At EFFoST2020, Dr. Liz Specht will discuss current and future technological needs within plant-based and cell-based innovations. In this interview, she shares her thoughts on the potential of alternative proteins.
