The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) will partner with Fi Global and Hi Europe to host a workshop to highlight the potential impact of new food technologies on consumer health. The event is being held in cooperation with the Association of German Food Technologists (GDL), Gesellschaft Deutscher Lebensmitteltechnologen e.V. The workshop will be held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany on Wednesday 28th November as part of "Health and Nutrition Week" during the Hi Europe exhibition.

The focus of the program will be on "Healthy Foods Through New Food Processing Technologies". Over the past half-century, considerable research has shown that poor diets contribute to several hundred thousand premature deaths annually. That research has served as the foundation of the Food Industries’ mission to be the vehicle to improve consumer health. New food technologies will be critical, moving into the future to achieve this aim. The session will be moderated by Professor Dr. Dietrich Knorr, Food Biotechnology & Food Process Engineering, Technical University Berlin and IUFoST President 2016 - 2018.  Expert speakers including world renowned scientists will address critical areas related to the supply of nutritious, sustainable and safe food using new emerging technologies. Senior management, business strategists, research and development scientists and food professionals will all benefit by attending this event.
