We are delighted to have Dolores O’Riordan, president of the EFFoST Board, together with Francisco J. Barba, from the University of Valencia, and Maria Carmen Collado, from IATA-CSIC, kick off these two and a half days of interactive food science and technology presentations from speakers from all around the world, followed by Carlos Hermenegido Caudevilla, Vice-rector of research of the University of Valencia. The scientific programme will start with a wonderful line-up of plenary speakers not only from academia but also from leading research institutes.
In the official scientific program, there will be more than 160 presentations across 24 sessions, each falling under one of the three main conference sub-themes, each of which is uniquely color-coded for your convenience:
Sub-theme 1: Food Sustainability
Sub-theme 2: New food product development: from risk assessment to nutritional foods
Sub-theme 3: Food and Microbes
In parallel, there will be 13 special sessions in total, 11 of them showcasing EU project results and fostering collaborations between them. On top of that, the EYE mentorship programme will be kicked off and the annual panel discussion moderated by Lilia Arne and Dolores O’Riordan will take place as a special session.
The two poster presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday will host more than 600 poster presentations in total, allowing for direct interaction with the presenters. Each day, approximately 300 posters will be on display, clustered according to the sub-themes mentioned above. The poster sessions will happen at the same time as the refreshment breaks and lunch breaks. Please keep in mind that food and drinks will be served in the poster rooms too, so you can avoid the queues at the exhibition area.
Don’t miss our networking opportunities: The welcome reception on Monday 6 November, the PubQuiz that will take place in Auditorium 3 during the Welcome Reception, the Gala Dinner in the captivating City of Arts, and more!
