This is a message from the President of the EFFoST Board:

It is my pleasure to announce the first congress organised by the Global Harmonization Initiative (GHI). GHI is a joint initiative of EFFoST and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), founded in 2007. The goal of GHI is "Achieving consensus on the science of food regulations and legislation to ensure the global availability of safe and wholesome food products for all consumers". GHI is a very active and global group of scientists and is fully impartial, meaning that the organisation does not accept funding from either industries or governments. Visiting GHI website shows current activities (through working groups) and also shows that GHI is indeed really global. EFFoST self-evidently is endorsing the first GHI Congress and encourages readers to participate.
