The improvement of practical knowledge and abilities in solving real processing- and food industry-related problems is essential for students in Food Science and Technology and Food-related studies in order to meet the current requirements of professional skills by the job market.
This edition challenges student teams to focus their projects on “Fighting food, energy and water losses”. Teams from universities worldwide are welcome to compete and find the best solutions for one specific process – and/or food-industry- related problem. This year the competition projects will deal with solutions, strategies, processes and product innovations that are able to actively reduce waste throughout the food supply chain and life cycle of the product, from agricultural and breeding productions, food industrial processing, packaging, storage, distribution and service steps.
